Call for Applications: Training of Trainers on Evidence-Based Methodologies​

War Child invites experienced and qualified professionals to apply for our upcoming Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions across Africa and Colombia.

What is the training?

In response to the increasing demand for effective Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) approaches and to support the scale-up of EBMs, War Child will roll out a series of capacity strengthening trainings across Africa and in Colombia. We invite applications from qualified and experienced professionals to participate in the Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions related to the following EBMs – TeamUp, BeThere, EASE and Equip (including WeACT and EnACT).

Where and when will the trainings take place?

Uganda, Kampala (English speakers):

  • EASE: 25 – 5 September 2025
  • BeThere: 28 – 5 September 2025​
  • EQUIP (WeACT and EnACT): 8 – 11 September 2025

Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Goma or Rwanda, Getsenie (French speakers):

  • TeamUp + WeACT: September 2025​ (Date TBC)
  • BeThere + ENACT: 15 – 20 September 2025​

Colombia, Bogota (Spanish speakers)​:

  • TeamUp + WeACT: September 2025​ (Date TBC)

Who can apply?

Invitations are welcomed from community members, local and international organisations' staff or volunteers who have the following background:

  • Extensive experience of direct implementation and facilitation of MHPSS in humanitarian setting;
  • Extensive experience of supervising, mentoring and/or coaching of staff, volunteers/ community members in the implementation of MHPSS activities
  • Willingness to be supervised and mentored for at least one cycle of implementation after the TOT.

Selection will be strictly based on the above and on a first-come come first-served basis. Please note, this is not an advertisement for a job. Interested candidates must be linked to an organisation (local or international).

How does it work and what are the costs?

There are two cost options for the trainings:

Full Board: Trainer fees, Accommodation, meals, airport transfers, print outs (per diem covered by sending organisation)​

Half Board: Trainer fees only (sending organisation organises accommodation, print outs, transport, and other costs)

The actual costs for your preferred location and option can be provided directly.

The training schedule consists of intensive, full-day engagement on the respective methodologies. There will be practical sessions, followed by reflection and constructive feedback.

What happens after the training?

The TOT is the beginning of your journey as a trainer of TeamUp, EASE or BeThere. After the TOT, War Child will be available to provide ongoing supervision and mentoring through an agreed and committed schedule. We are also available for collaboration on contextualising the methodology for your context, joint fundraising, proposal development and implementation planning.
