Integrity and safeguarding
War Child is committed to upholding the fundamental rights of children and young people affected by violence, conflict and humanitarian crises around the world. We are dedicated to being a safe organisation in all contexts, ensuring that every child, young person and adult we engage with is treated with dignity, respect and protected from harm.
Our Integrity and Safeguarding Framework
Integrity and safeguarding are at the heart of everything War Child does. Every War Child representative plays a role in creating a safe, inclusive and respectful culture through their actions, decisions and conduct. This responsibility extends to safeguarding the safety, dignity and wellbeing of our staff, partners and the children, young people and caregivers we serve.
Our Integrity and Safeguarding Framework is a set of four interlinked policies that set out our standards, responsibilities and expectations, helping to build trust and ensure that everyone who engages with War Child is protected from harm and able to raise concerns safely and confidently.

All War Child’s policies are developed with input from both child rights organisations and recognised sector standards and benchmarks. Our Global Safeguarding Policy aligns with the international standards issued by the leading global organisation dedicated to protecting children from harm, Keeping Children Safe (KCS).
Reporting concerns
Our Integrity and Safeguarding Framework is designed to ensure all War Child stakeholders meet the highest standards of ethical behaviour, particularly in relation to sexual exploitation and abuse. However, we recognise that incidents may occur that fall short of these standards. That is why we have established Speak Up! - an anonymous reporting channel that allows concerns to be raised safely and confidentially.
If you, or someone you know, has witnessed, heard about or suspects misconduct, we encourage you to report it.
War Child uses an independent external service provider (CaseIQ) for Speak Up! so that reports can be filed in confidence and safety. Reports can be filed in your own language (24/7 and 365 days a year). For more information, download our Speak Up! Procedure.
