Play. Connect. Thrive: War Child, Supported by the LEGO Foundation, Launches New Initiative to Revolutionise Partnerships and Reach More Children Affected by Conflict

Play. Connect. Thrive. is an innovative initiative that will introduce new models of partnership and scaling for impact to provide conflict-affected children with safe, effective interventions that truly foster their healing and emotional well-being. This initiative is supported by the LEGO Foundation and implemented in collaboration with Save the Children Nederland and its local partners.

Laura Miller, War Child Alliance Director of Programme Quality, Scaling & Advocacy explains that:

By testing, refining, and sharing our proven interventions with other renowned international organisations and their local partners, we're not only helping more children heal—we're building a stronger foundation for the entire sector to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. This initiative is about creating a ripple effect, where every partnership helps more children reclaim their childhood and build a better future."

While initial project activities will take place in Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria, the focus is on developing models for partnership that will support more international and local organisations to collaborate and deliver high-quality, proven interventions.

At the core of Thriving Through Play are War Child's evidence-based interventions. These are interventions that War Child has designed, researched and rigorously tested in the conflict-affected countries where they are delivered to make sure that they are as efficient and effective as possible.

The Thriving Through Play initiative introduces a comprehensive, modular package of War Child's evidence-based interventions – TeamUp, ReachNow and WeACT. The package is designed to provide children with the holistic support they need to recover and thrive, and caregivers, teachers and community leaders with the skills, resources and tools they need to support the children in their care.

Play. Connect. Thrive. is part of War Child's mission to transform how children affected by conflict are supported to recover and look to the future. By collaborating with strategic partners which have a large and strong presence in specific crisis contexts, War Child is committed to expanding its successful evidence-based interventions to reach more children worldwide, providing them with the tools they need to reclaim their childhood and build their own future.
